Studio K is a Chicago based interior design firm with an exciting portfolio of projects. Ranging from restaurants, bars and hotels to luxury student housing and hotels, our unique projects span the country. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our expanding team of collaborative designers. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and possess the ability to efficiently communicate design concepts to both clients and the Studio K team. We expect candidates to hit the ground running, with the ability to manage a wide range of projects simultaneously from concept through completion. In this position, working with the Managing Principal and Studio K’s design team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and administering projects from start to finish.
Manage projects from conception to completion, including work performed by both internal and external resources.
Establish budget, prepare project schedules and monitor adherence to terms.
Coordinate project teams' work to ensure timely and complete submission of documents.
Manage client relationships.
Required Education and Work Experience:
5+ years experience producing interior design projects and at least 2 years project management
experience or related management experience
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of the commercial/hospitality/bar & restaurant/residential interior architecture and/or design industry.
Widespread knowledge of materials, furnishings and construction methods related to interior design.
Broad knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements.
Demonstrated ability to solve contract and administration issues within the established design context.
Comprehensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics.
Intermediate MS O‱ⴠce application skills.
Proven AutoCAD/ADT and Revit skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage diverse responsibilities within allotted time and/or budget.
Proven ability to manage all project phases.
Intermediate supervisory, leadership and team building skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising design intent or internal relationships.
Working knowledge of budget preparation and the proven ability to manage projects within budgetary constraints.
